I am Postdoctoral Fellow in Institute for Analytics and Data Science (IADS) at University of Essex. Before joining IADS, I was a Research Fellow in Data Science in Department of Methodology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I earned my Ph.D in political science at Rice University in 2012.

My research interests lie in data science and politics. In particular, I am interested in the statistical methodology for scaling survey responses and legislative behavior, and natural language processing of political texts (e.g. social media texts, open-ended survey answers, and parliamentary speeches).
