I am a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Political Science, Academia Sinica and an Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Government at the University of Essex. From 2023 to 2026, I was an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the Department of Government at Essex. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Analytics and Data Science, a Research Fellow in Data Science in the Department of Methodology at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Postdoctoral Research Officer at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Rice University in 2012.

My research interests lie in data science and politics. In particular, I am interested in the statistical methodology for scaling political behavior and natural language processing of political texts, such as social media texts, government documents, and parliamentary speeches.
